John Walters Studio is located on the main street of the village of Amelia, which is St. Rt. 125 and also known as Beechmont Avenue. Traveling on I-275 East, you would take Exit #65 and proceed east for approximately six miles.
John Walters started the studio in August 1974 after leaving the US Air Force. While in the service, he studied photography in North Carolina; this would later influence the studio’s portrait style. John has continued his study of photography up to this day.
Along the way, John has received the prestigious Master of Photography and Photographic Craftsman’s degrees from the Professional Photographers of America.
More recently, he received their coveted Master of Electronic Imaging degree. During the years, John has been a guest speaker for PPA national conventions as well as numerous state and local photographic affiliates. Along with speaking engagements for the PPA, John was trained and has served as an international juror of professional photography for the organization’s annual image competition.
John has taught photographic classes as an Adjunct Assistant Professor for the University of Cincinnati, and instructed courses for Antonelli College, Ohio Institute of Photography and the Winona School of Professional Photography (Chicago).
For several years John served as a technical advisor for McKenna Pro Imaging, a professional color lab network with locations in Waterloo, IA Phoenix, AZ and San Diego, CA. John has over twenty-four articles to his credit published in the “Professional Photographer” international trade journal.
